Sepsis is a medical emergency and is a leading cause of preventable death and persistent harm. It is #1 cause of death in hospital and the #1 cause of healthcare costs. In this prelearning we explore the risk factors, signs and symptoms of sepsis in adults and children, resuscitation and immediate management of the septic patient and referral or retrieval for definitive management.
